While every country has its beauty and charm, some experiences leave you feeling frustrated, disappointed, or even unsafe. Here are 10 countries I personally won’t be revisiting — not to discourage others, but to share my honest take.
1. Egypt
The ancient wonders are spectacular, but constant tourist scams, pushy vendors, and aggressive street behavior made the visit stressful. Despite hiring guides, I felt on guard throughout my stay.
2. India
Rich in culture and colors, yes — but the extreme noise, pollution, and overcrowding were overwhelming. It was a sensory overload that left me exhausted rather than inspired.
3. Russia
Visiting pre-pandemic and pre-conflict, I encountered cold hospitality and bureaucratic red tape. Navigating language barriers and stern attitudes made it feel unwelcoming.
4. China
Historical sights like the Great Wall were impressive, but censorship, surveillance, and lack of personal freedom were unsettling. Plus, the air quality in big cities was concerning.
5. Morocco
Beautiful architecture and landscapes, but the street harassment in tourist zones was difficult to handle — especially as a solo traveler. It distracted from the magic of the place.
6. Brazil
From incredible beaches to vibrant culture — Brazil has a lot to offer, but safety was a major issue. Being constantly on high alert for theft took away from the fun.
7. Vietnam
The food is incredible, but my experience was marred by dual pricing, constant upcharges for tourists, and rude interactions in certain cities. It just didn’t feel welcoming.
8. Jamaica
While the beaches are stunning, I felt uncomfortable with the constant pressure to buy something or tip excessively. It felt more transactional than hospitable.
9. Turkey
A blend of east and west, yes — but poor transportation, dishonest taxi drivers, and political tension made the trip less enjoyable than expected. I didn’t feel fully at ease.
10. Tunisia
The desert landscapes were surreal, but outdated infrastructure and a feeling of unease in tourist areas led to a disappointing experience. Safety concerns overshadowed the beauty.
